My Story

Massage Therapy Practice

Kristen has been in private practice since 1991.  During which time, she has worked at Baystate Medical Center with pregnant and post-partum moms and oncology patients, and as an adjunct faculty, teaching Kinesiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pregnancy Massage and Clinical Assessment at the Stillpoint School of Massage, Sanford Brown Institute and The Massage School in western MA.

Somatic Therapy Practice

As an athlete, dancer, and massage therapist, Kristen's natural orientation to the world is through the 5 senses of the body.  A deep exploration of body-centered psychotherapy as practiced at Shalom Mountain in the Catskills, has led her to further studies in Core Energetics with Miriam Dror, Process Therapy with Carol Jud and Lawarence Stibbards, Anusara Yoga with Deb Neubauer, Himalayan Tantra and Philosophy with Rudy Ballentine, World Spirituality and Mysticism with Marc Gafni, Sacred Sexuality with Vyana Bergen, Vipassana meditation with Goenka Gi, Mindulness-based Stress Reduction at UMASS Medical Center, NVC with Marshall Rosenberg and Somatic Experiencing at The Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute with Steve Hoskinson.  Each of these informs her work with private clients.

Group Work - Retreats (page not yet developed)

Kristen's work as a trainer working with groups began in the 80's and early 90's when she worked with youth-at-risk as a land and sea instructor for Outward Bound, a wilderness-based, therapeutic program.  Later, the skills learned for effective communication, conflict resolution, and group dynamics, became vital stepping stones to a burgeoning business as a team-skills consultant to community based, non-profit and multi-national corporations.  This included a year working as a community development liaison in Papua New Guinea with the Peace Corps.

Since 1997, Kristen's work with groups has been almost entirely focused on the deeper work of personal growth and transformation.  She leads retreats, workshops and courses for those looking to find greater meaning, depth and purpose to their lives.
